जातरूपस्य मुख्यस्य अनर्घेयस्थ भारत । एतद् राजन् मम धन तेन दीव्याम्यहं त्वया
jātarūpasya mukhyasya anargheyasya bhārata | etad rājan mama dhana tena dīvyāmy ahaṃ tvayā ||
ユディシュティラは言った。「バーラタよ、我には最上の黄金がある。値を量ることもかなわぬほどの宝だ。王よ、これが我が財である。これを賭けて、そなたと博打をしよう。」
युधिछिर उवाच
Even ‘priceless’ wealth becomes spiritually and socially destructive when placed in the service of addiction, pride, or rivalry; dharma requires restraint and discernment, not merely possession of riches.
In the dice-hall episode, Yudhiṣṭhira declares the immense value of his gold and offers it as a stake, formally committing his treasure to the gambling match with the kingly opponent.
