Jarāsandha–Bhīma Niyuddha-prastāvaḥ
Commencement of the Regulated Duel
svavīryaṃ kṣatriyāṇāṃ tu bāhvor dhātā nyaveśayat | tad didṛkṣasi ced rājan draṣṭāsy adya na saṃśayaḥ ||
The verse frames martial prowess as an ordained, innate capacity of Kṣatriyas—valor is ‘placed’ in their arms by the Creator—implying that rightful strength and responsibility are integral to Kṣatriya-dharma and will manifest when tested.
Kṛṣṇa addresses a king and assures him that if he wishes to witness the Kṣatriyas’ inherent power, he will see it that very day—signaling an imminent demonstration of warrior strength and resolve.
