मयस्य प्रतिकृतिः — Maya’s Offer and the Commissioning of the Sabhā
स कालं कंचिदाश्वस्य विश्वकर्मा विचिन्त्य तु । सभां प्रचक्रमे कर्तु पाण्डवानां महात्मनाम्,कुछ दिनोंतक वहाँ आरामसे रहकर दैत्योंके विश्वकर्मा मयासुरने सोच-विचारकर महात्मा पाण्डवोंके लिये सभाभवन बनानेकी तैयारी की
sa kālaṃ kañcid āśvasya viśvakarmā vicintya tu | sabhāṃ pracakrame kartuṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ mahātmanām ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。しばらくそこで憩ったのち、ダイティヤの間で「ヴィシュヴァカルマン(万工の匠)」として名高いマヤは、つぶさに思案し、偉大なる心をもつパーンダヴァたちのために सभा(集会殿)を築く準備に取りかかった。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Deliberation (vicāra) before action and the proper use of expertise are presented as supports to dharmic rule: great works meant for public order—like a royal sabhā—should arise from thoughtful planning rather than impulse.
After a period of rest, Mayāsura—famed as a supreme artisan—decides to undertake the construction of an assembly hall for the Pāṇḍavas and begins the preparations to build it.
