Arjuna’s evacuation of Dvārakā, Vasudeva’s rites, and the caravan’s crisis
kṛtakṛtyāni cāstrāṇi gatāny adya yathāgatam
Even the most formidable powers—especially weapons and violent means—are ultimately temporary and purposive: once their destined function is completed, they withdraw. The verse hints at ethical restraint and the inevitability of closure after conflict.
Vyāsa remarks that the astras (weapons/missiles) have completed their appointed task and have now departed, returning to their origin in the same way they appeared—signaling the winding down of destructive forces in the Mausala Parva context.
