Vasudeva–Arjuna Dialogue in the Aftermath of Dvārakā

The passage underscores the fragility of worldly power and the ethical obligation to protect the vulnerable after catastrophe. Even great lineages collapse; dharma then expresses itself as guardianship, orderly conduct, and compassionate leadership amid grief.
After the annihilation of the Vṛṣṇis, their widows—overcome by sorrow—depart in vehicles drawn by various animals and follow Arjuna (Dhanañjaya), who is leading and escorting the survivors onward.
