उत्पातदर्शनम् — Portents and Kāla among the Vṛṣṇis

तन्निघ्नन्तं महातेजा बभ्रु: परपुरञ्जय:

tan nighnantaṃ mahātejā babhruḥ parapurañjayaḥ

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「相手を打ち倒しているそのさなか、強大な光輝を帯び、敵の城砦を攻略する者バブリュが、まさにそのように振る舞う姿が見られた。」この一句は暴力の陰惨な加速を示す。力と勝利を讃えられる英雄でさえ、殺す行為のただ中に描かれ、『マウサラ』の物語を貫く道義の崩壊と自己破滅を予兆するのである。
