Portents and Kāla among the Vṛṣṇis
avidhyān vidhyate rājan prakṣipanti sama yat tṛṇam

Ignorance (avidyā) and loss of discernment make people misidentify what is harmless or improper to attack; once judgment collapses, even trivial things become instruments of harm, leading to self-destruction.
In the Mausala Parva’s account of the Yādavas’ end, Vaiśampāyana describes how, overcome by delusion and agitation, they lash out indiscriminately—so frenzied that they even seize and fling grass as though it were a weapon.
