The verse functions as a phalaśruti: it affirms that glorifying the eternal Lord Viṣṇu (identified with Kṛṣṇa) and engaging in svādhyāya of this revered teaching brings happiness and the attainment of one’s rightful aims, emphasizing the sanctity and efficacy of Vyāsa’s authoritative word.
Vaiśampāyana concludes a section by praising the divinity celebrated within it—Viṣṇu/Kṛṣṇa—and by stating the beneficial result of reciting or studying these words, attributing their power to the revered speech of the great sage Vyāsa.
