गन्धतैलावसिक्ताभि: काउचनीभि: सहसत्रश: | दीपिकाभि: कृतोद्योतं पश्यते वै वृषं तदा,उस समय सुगन्धित तेलसे भरे हुए सहस्रों सोनेके दीपक जलाकर प्रकाश किया गया था। उसी उजालेमें वे धर्मात्मा कर्णको देख रहे थे
gandhatailāvasiktābhiḥ kāñcanībhiḥ sahasraśaḥ | dīpikābhiḥ kṛtodyotaṃ paśyate vai vṛṣaṃ tadā ||
そのとき、香油を満たした黄金の灯が幾千ともなく点され、あたりは燦然と照らし出された。その光の中で、人々はヴリシャ（カルナ）――法に心を寄せる勇士を見た。
