サンジャヤは言った。「賭博で勝ち取られたクリシュナー(ドラウパディー)をかつて嘲った、あの最も卑しい男——今日、大地はそのスータの子(カルナ)の血を飲んでいる。」

The verse underscores moral causality: cruelty and public humiliation of the vulnerable—especially Draupadī’s dishonor after the dice-game—invite grave consequences. In the war’s outcome, Sañjaya interprets Karna’s suffering as the ripening of earlier adharma.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra during the Kurukṣetra war, pointing to Karna’s downfall. He recalls Karna’s earlier mockery of Draupadī when she was treated as a stake in gambling, and contrasts that past wrongdoing with the present scene of Karna bleeding on the battlefield.
