तेषां योधसहस््राणां तावकानां महामृथधे । नासीत्तत्र पुमान् कश्चिद् यो युद्धाय मनो दधे,आपके उन हजारों योद्धाओंमें वहाँ कोई भी ऐसा पुरुष नहीं था, जो अपने मनमें उस महासमरमें युद्धके लिये उत्साह रखता हो
teṣāṁ yodhasahasrāṇāṁ tāvakānāṁ mahāmṛdhe | nāsīt tatra pumān kaścid yo yuddhāya mano dadhe ||
サञ्जयは言った。「あなたのその幾千の戦士たちの中で、あの大いなる恐るべき合戦において、戦うことに心を固く定めた者は一人としていなかった。この瞬間は軍勢の内なる道義の崩れを示す。決意が折れれば、数や武器だけでは大義を支えられず、ダルマと自信が揺らいだところに恐れが広がるのだ。」
