The verse highlights the ethical danger of anger-driven speech: harsh words, even when spoken casually or in command, can become a form of injury and moral fault, especially within intimate relationships where duty and respect are expected.
Vaiśampāyana recounts that someone earlier addressed a woman with a cutting directive—telling her to serve her husband or another—showing how, in wrath, he uttered rough, insulting words that demeaned her.
