agamyarūpā pṛthivī māṃsaśoṇitakardamā | bhārata! tatra karṇadvārā māritaiḥ hastibhiś ca aśvaiś ca śavasaṃghaiḥ pṛthivyāṃ gamanaṃ aśakyaṃ babhūva | rakta-māṃsayoḥ kardamaḥ sañjajñe |
サンジャヤは言った。「おおバラタよ、そこでは大地が通れぬものとなり、地表は見分けもつかぬほど、肉と血の泥濘へと変わった。カルナに討たれた象と馬の屍が山と積まれ、地を進むことはもはや不可能であった。血と肉のぬかるみが一面にこびりついたのだ。」
संजय उवाच
