हारपद्माकरां चैव भूमिरेणूमिमालिनीम्‌ । आर्यवृत्तवतां संख्ये सुतरां भीरुदुस्तराम्‌

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca |

hārapadmākarāṃ caiva bhūmir eṇūmimālinīm |

āryavṛttavatāṃ saṅkhye sutarāṃ bhīrudustarām ||

Translation

サञ्जयは語った。「大地そのものが、首飾りで満ちた蓮の湖のように見え、その波は巻き上がる塵のうねりであった。その戦いにおいてそれは、ヴァイタラニーのごとく、徳ある者には容易に渡れるが、恐れに囚われた者にはきわめて渡り難いものとなった。」
