Bhīma’s surge and dialogue with charioteer Viśoka
tad balaṁ pāṇḍuputrasya droṇaputrapratāpitam
The verse highlights how martial prowess can decisively shift the balance of battle, reminding the listener that strength and strategy—when wielded by a formidable warrior—can overwhelm even a renowned side; it also underscores the Mahābhārata’s ethical tension between valor and the destructive momentum of war.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Pāṇḍava force (associated with Pāṇḍu’s son) is being severely pressured and subdued by the battlefield might of Droṇa’s son, Aśvatthāmā.
