Prelude to Karṇa’s Slaying
अपरे कृष्यमाणाश्रन विचेष्टन्तो महीतले । भावान् बहुविधांश्वक्रुस्ताडिता: शरतोमरै:
apare kṛṣyamāṇāś ca viceṣṭanto mahītale | bhāvān bahuvidhāṁś cakrus tāḍitāḥ śaratomaraiḥ ||
サञ्जयは語った。「また別の馬たちは、矢や投げ槍（トーマラ）に打たれ、引きずられながら地を転げ、さまざまな苦悶と動揺のさまをさらけ出していた。この光景は、戦の残酷な奔流を示す。罪なき乗騎でさえ、武人の暴力によって苦しみへと巻き込まれてゆくのだ。」
