युधिष्ठिरस्य धनंजय-प्रति गर्हा
Yudhiṣṭhira’s Reproach to Dhanaṃjaya
तं॑ शल्य: प्राह मा कर्ण गृहीथा: पार्थिवोत्तमम् । गृहीतमात्रो हत्वा त्वां मा करिष्यति भस्मसात्
taṁ śalyaḥ prāha mā karṇa gṛhīthāḥ pārthivottamam | gṛhītamātro hatvā tvāṁ mā kariṣyati bhasmasāt ||
サンジャヤは語った。シャリヤはカルナに言った。「カルナよ、あの最上の王を掴むな。掴んだその瞬間、彼はお前を討ち、灰と化してしまうだろう。」この警告は、戦場における軽率な猛進の危うさと、驕りの衝動に勝る明晰な判断の必要を示している。
