शल्य उवाच
The verse highlights the battlefield ethic of role-based duty (ratha-sārathi and warrior): success in war depends not only on personal valor but also on reliable support. Śalya’s assurance aims to steady Karṇa’s mind, emphasizing composure and confidence as strategic virtues.
Śalya addresses Karṇa and promises that when Karṇa fights Arjuna, Śalya will drive Karṇa’s horses. He urges Karṇa to be free from anxiety, offering practical and psychological support before the climactic confrontation.
