Tripura-destruction exemplum and counsel to Śalya

tatrātuṣyanta yodhāś ca siddhāś cāpi divi sthitāḥ |

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how steadfast courage and exceptional martial resolve, when displayed openly in a righteous warrior context, draws recognition not only from human observers but also from higher celestial witnesses—suggesting that exemplary conduct in one’s duty (kṣatriya-dharma) earns universal approval.

Sañjaya reports that, at that moment in the battle, the assembled fighters were delighted, and even the Siddhas in heaven were pleased, because they had just witnessed an astonishing deed of prowess on the battlefield.
