दुःशासननिग्रहः—द्रोणधृष्टद्युम्नयुद्धप्रसङ्गः

इति श्रीमहाभारते द्रोणपर्वणि जयद्रथवधपर्वणि द्वन्द्ययुद्धे षण्णवतितमो<ध्याय: ।। ९६ || इस प्रकार श्रीमह्माभारत द्रोणपर्वके अन्तर्गत जयद्रथवधपर्वमें द्द्धयुद्धविषयक छानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti śrīmahābhārate droṇaparvaṇi jayadrathavadhaparvaṇi dvandvayuddhe ṣaṇṇavatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ || 96 ||
サンジャヤは言った。「かくして『吉祥マハーバーラタ』において、ドローナ・パルヴァのうち、ジャヤドラタ討伐の章段に属する、決闘を主題とする第九十六章はここに終わる。」この奥書は戦記の流れに儀礼的な区切りを与え、叙事詩が暴力の出来事を整然たる章節に収めつつ、ダルマ（義務）とその帰結、そして戦いの道徳的重みへの省察を促すことを示している。
