Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 95 — Sātyaki’s Breakthrough and the Routing of Allied Contingents
teṣām api sasarjāśu śaravṛṣṭiṁ dhanañjayaḥ | sṛṣṭis tathāvidhā hy āsīc chalabhānām ivāyatiḥ ||

The verse highlights a battlefield ethic within kṣatriya-dharma: when faced with an aggressive assault, a warrior must respond swiftly and decisively to protect allies. The locust-swarm simile underscores the overwhelming scale of force that can arise when conflict escalates.
Sañjaya narrates that Arjuna immediately counters the opposing side by releasing a dense shower of arrows. The missile-stream is described as resembling the advancing mass of locusts, emphasizing its sheer multitude and unstoppable momentum.
