Droṇa–Sātyaki Engagement
ततः प्रववृते युद्ध तुमुलं लोमहर्षणम् । अन्योनयं वै प्रार्थयतां योधानामर्जुनस्थ च,तदनन्तर एक-दूसरेको ललकारते हुए कौरव-योद्धाओं तथा अर्जुनमें रोमांचकारी एवं भयंकर युद्ध छिड़ गया
tataḥ pravavṛte yuddhaṁ tumulaṁ lomaharṣaṇam | anyonyaṁ vai prārthayatāṁ yodhānām arjunasya ca ||
サञ्जयは語った。「そのとき、身の毛もよだつほど凄まじい、轟然たる戦が勃発した。クル族（カウラヴァ）の戦士たちとアルジュナが、互いに面と向かって挑み合ったのである。」それは相互の挑発と武人の矜持に駆られた新たな暴虐のうねりであり、勇と義務（ダルマ）が増大する破壊と衝突する戦の道義的重みをいっそう深めた。
