“तुम दोनों जिस कार्यसे यहाँ आये हो, वह क्या है? मैं उसे सिद्ध कर दूँगा। अपने लिये कल्याणकारी वस्तुको माँगो। मैं तुम दोनोंको सब कुछ दे सकता हूँ ।। ततस्तद्ू वचन श्रुत्वा प्रत्युत्थाय कृताञउ्जली । वासुदेवार्जुनौ शर्व तुष्टवाते महामती,भगवान् शंकरकी यह बात सुनकर अनिन्दित महात्मा परम बुद्धिमान् श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुन हाथ जोड़कर खड़े हो गये और दिव्य स्तोत्रद्वारा भक्तिभावसे उन भगवान् शिवकी स्तुति करने लगे
sañjaya uvāca | "yuvābhyāṃ yad iha kāryam āgatau tad kim? ahaṃ tat sādhayiṣyāmi | ātmane kalyāṇakārīṃ vastuṃ yācethām | ahaṃ yuvābhyāṃ sarvaṃ dātuṃ śaknomi" || tataḥ tad vacanaṃ śrutvā pratyutthāya kṛtāñjalī | vāsudevārjunau śarvaṃ tuṣṭuvāte mahāmatī ||
サンジャヤは言った。「そなたら二人は何のために来たのか。われはそれを成し遂げよう。そなたらの福利となるものを求めよ。二人にあらゆるものを授けることができる。」この言葉を聞くや、非難なき大いなる魂、至高の智慧を具えたヴァースデーヴァ（クリシュナ）とアルジュナは立ち上がり、合掌して敬礼し、天なる讃歌をもってシャルヴァ（シヴァ）を讃え始めた—力に対して要求で応えるのではなく、信愛と律ある謙抑で応えたのである。
