पुण्यं हिमवतः पादं मणिमन्तं च पर्वतम् । ज्योतिर्भिश्न समाकीर्ण सिद्धचारणसेवितम्,पवित्र हिमालयके शिखर तथा तेज:पुंजसे व्याप्त एवं सिद्धों और चारणोंसे सेवित मणिमान् पर्वतको भी देखा
puṇyaṃ himavataḥ pādaṃ maṇimantaṃ ca parvatam | jyotirbhiś ca samākīrṇaṃ siddhacāraṇasevitam ||
サンジャヤは言った。彼は聖なるヒマヴァトの山麓を見、またマニマント山をも見た――光の群れに満ちて輝き、シッダたちとチャーラナたちが往来し奉仕する霊峰であった。
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the idea that certain places are regarded as intrinsically purifying (puṇya) because they are associated with spiritual beings and luminous austerity; it implicitly contrasts such purity with the ethical strain and violence of the war setting.
Sañjaya reports a vision/observation of sacred Himalayan regions: the foothills of Himavat and the mountain Maṇimant, described as radiant and inhabited by Siddhas and Cāraṇas.
