The verse underscores the moral atmosphere of war: when collective passion and fear surge, they manifest as overwhelming noise and agitation. It hints at how conflict amplifies chaos, drowning discernment—an implicit warning about the dehumanizing momentum of battle.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that, on the Kaurava side, a massive commotion erupts—elephants, horses, foot-soldiers, and chariots all contributing to a terrifying battlefield roar spreading in all directions.
