Transliteration

bhīṣmeṇa tu raṇe pārthāḥ pālitā bāhuśālinā

Translation

サञ्जयは言った。激戦のただ中で、プリターの子らは、強大な腕を持つ戦士ビーマによって守られていた。この一句は、戦の趨勢が一人の卓越した闘士の庇護に左右され得ることを示し、味方への忠義と、破壊を抑えるべき務めとの間に生じる倫理的緊張を浮かび上がらせる。
