ब्रह्मोवाच संहर्तु न च मे काम एतदेवं भवेदिति । पृथिव्या हितकामं तु ततो मां मन्युराविशत्,ब्रह्माजी बोले--रुद्र! मेरी इच्छा यह नहीं है कि इस प्रकार इस जगतका संहार हो। वसुधाके हितके लिये ही मेरे मनमें क्रोधका आवेश हुआ था
brahmovāca saṁhartuṁ na ca me kāma etad evaṁ bhaved iti | pṛthivyā hitakāmaṁ tu tato māṁ manyur āviśat ||
梵天は言った。「このようにして世界が滅びることを、私は望まぬ。だが大地の安寧を思うがゆえに、怒りが我が内に入り込んだのだ。」
