Abhimanyu’s fierce melee amid chariot formations

The verse highlights how outward order (vidhivat—properly made) and symbolic standards (ketu with an emblem) communicate authority and morale in war; it suggests that disciplined preparation and meaningful insignia shape perception and resolve, even amid violence.
Sañjaya describes a warrior’s chariot as magnificently constructed, likening it to a celestial Gandharva-city, and notes a great silver banner bearing a boar emblem standing prominently and beautifying the chariot.
