Encirclement and Counterassault of Abhimanyu
ते विंशतिपदे यत्ता: सम्प्रहारं प्रचक्रिरे । आसीद् गाज् इवावर्तो मुहूर्तमुदधाविव,अभिमन्यु बीस पग ही आगे बढ़े थे कि सामना करनेके लिये उद्यत हुए द्रोणाचार्य आदि योद्धा उनपर प्रहार करने लगे। उस समय उस सैन्यसागरमें अभिमन्युके प्रवेश करनेसे दो घड़ीतक सेनाकी वही दशा रही, जैसी कि समुद्रमें गंगाकी भँवरोंसे युक्त जलराशिके मिलनेसे होती है
te viṁśatipade yattāḥ samprahāraṁ pracakrire | āsīd gāṅgā ivāvarto muhūrtam udadhāv iva ||
サンジャヤは言った。「アビマンニュが二十歩ほど進んだその時、迎え撃つべく備えたドローナーチャールヤを先頭とする戦士たちが、彼に打撃を浴びせ始めた。しばしの間、その軍勢という大海は、アビマンニュの突入によって渦巻く騒乱に投げ込まれた—渦を伴うガンガーの水が海へ流れ込む時のように。」
