Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how astric power and protection can confer near-invincibility in war, raising an ethical tension: reliance on extraordinary weapons amplifies destruction and shifts the struggle from human valor to sanctioned force, testing the boundaries of righteous conduct in battle.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that, through a particular astra’s protection, Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son will be secure and will harass and crush opposing armies, becoming exceedingly difficult to defeat everywhere and always.
