तमापतत्तं नागेन्द्रमम्बुदप्रतिमस्वनम् । कुम्भान्तरे भीमसेनो नाराचैरार्दयद् भूशम्,वह गजराज मेघके समान गर्जना करनेवाला था। उसे अपनी ओर आते देख भीमसेनने उसके कुम्भस्थलमें नाराचोंद्वारा बड़ी चोट पहुँचायी
tam āpatattaṃ nāgendram ambuda-pratima-svanam | kumbhāntare bhīmaseno nārācair ārdayad bhṛśam ||
サンジャヤは言った。「雷雲のごとく轟く咆哮をあげて象王が突進して来るのを見て、ビーマセーナはナラーチャの矢で激しく射かけ、両のこめかみの間を深く傷つけた。戦場の苛烈な必然において、武人は圧倒的な力に対し決断の反撃をもって応え、死の突撃を止めて味方を守るのである。」
