Educational Q&A

Exclusive, unwavering devotion (ananya-bhāva) to Rudra/Śiva—described as the auspicious, boon-giving Lord of all—brings both well-being in this life and the highest spiritual attainment at life’s end.

In Vyāsa’s discourse within the Drona Parva, the text offers a devotional assurance (phalaśruti): it praises worship of Rudra (Umānātha) and states the fruits of such worship—worldly happiness followed by the supreme goal.
