The verse grounds devotion in scriptural authority: the Śatarudrīya—an eminent Vedic litany to Rudra-Śiva—is affirmed as a received Vedic hymn, and the tradition also teaches a specific form of reverential invocation under the name Anantarudra, emphasizing disciplined, text-rooted worship.
Vyāsa, speaking as an authoritative narrator, points to Vedic testimony about the Lord’s praise and worship: he identifies the Śatarudrīya as the outstanding Vedic hymn for Rudra-Śiva and notes that the Lord’s formal invocation/approach is taught with the designation Anantarudra.
