ईदृशश्व महादेवो भूयांश्न भगवानज: । न हि सर्वे मया शक््या वक्तुं भगवतो गुणा:
īdṛśaś ca mahādevo bhūyāṁś ca bhagavān ajaḥ | na hi sarve mayā śakyā vaktuṁ bhagavato guṇāḥ ||
ヴィヤーサは言った。「まことにこのようである、マハーデーヴァは——いよいよ偉大にして、福徳具足の御方、不生の御方。されど我には、その主の徳のすべてを余すところなく語り尽くすことはできぬ。」

The verse emphasizes devotional humility: even a great sage like Vyāsa admits the Lord’s virtues are beyond complete verbal description, highlighting the immeasurable nature of divine excellence.
Vyāsa, speaking within the Drona Parva context, offers a reverential characterization of Mahādeva (Śiva) as supremely exalted and unborn, and declares the inadequacy of human speech to enumerate all of the Lord’s qualities.
