ततस्तुमुलमाकाशे शरवर्षमजायत । पावकार्चि: परीतं तत् पार्थमेवाभिपुप्लुवे,फिर तो आकाशमें बाणोंकी भयंकर वर्षा होने लगी और सब ओर फैली हुई आगकी लपटें अर्जुनपर ही टूट पड़ीं
tatas tumulam ākāśe śaravarṣam ajāyata | pāvakārciḥ parītaṃ tat pārtham evābhipupluve ||
サञ्जयは語った。そのとき天空に、轟き渦巻く矢の雨が生じた。燃えさかる火焔の舌に包まれたその猛襲は押し寄せ、主としてパールタ（アルジュナ）に降りかかった。まるで戦の憤怒が、ただ彼一人へと収斂するかのようであった。
