サञ्जयは言った。「怒りを抑え得ぬその戦士は、鋭い矢でビーマセーナを射貫いた。戦の熱気のただ中で、光輝に満ち気性も猛きドローナの子は、まず迫り来る矢の雨を打ち砕き、ついで鋭利な矢柄でビーマを突き通した。怒りが戦場を支配するとき、武の技がいかに冷酷な効率を示すかが、そこに現れていた。」
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how, in war, mastery of weapons and the surge of anger can quickly turn the tide; it implicitly warns that unchecked amarṣa (intolerant wrath) drives actions that intensify violence, even when performed under the banner of kṣatriya duty.
Sañjaya reports that the wrathful fighter—understood in context as Droṇa’s son Aśvatthāman—cuts down the opposing arrow-shower and then pierces Bhīma with sharp arrows, marking a fierce exchange between major warriors in the Droṇa Parva battle.
