तच्छुत्वा द्रोणपुत्रस्य पर्यवर्तत वाहिनी । ततः सर्वे महाशड्खान् दध्मु: पुरुषसत्तमा:,द्रोणपुत्र अश्वत्थामाकी वह बात सुनकर कौरवोंकी सेना लौट आयी। फिर तो सभी पुरुषश्रेष्ठ वीर बड़े-बड़े शंख बजाने लगे
tac chrutvā droṇaputrasya paryavartata vāhinī | tataḥ sarve mahāśaṅkhān dadhmuḥ puruṣasattamāḥ ||
サञ्जयは言った。ドローナの子（アシュヴァッターマン）の言葉を聞くや、カウラヴァの軍勢は引き返した。すると人中の最勝たる勇士たちは大いなる法螺貝を吹き鳴らし、軍を呼び集め、戦の混乱のただ中に新たな決意を告げた。
