The colophon highlights a recurring Mahābhārata ethic: uncontrolled krodha (wrath), especially when joined to extraordinary power (such as divine weapons), accelerates adharma and suffering. Even in a war setting, the text repeatedly frames restraint and discernment as morally superior to rage-driven action.
This is a chapter-ending colophon. It states that the chapter focused on Aśvatthāmā’s anger, situated within the Droṇa Parva and within the episode connected to the Nārāyaṇāstra and the protection of cows, has concluded.
