उभयेनैव ते हीना नाविन्दन् धृतिमात्मन: । इस लोकमें पराजय और परलोकमें महान् भय पाकर दोनों ही लोकोंसे वंचित हो वे अपने भीतर धैर्य न धारण कर सके
ubhayenaiva te hīnā nāvindan dhṛtim ātmanaḥ |
サञ्जयは言った。「彼らは両面で奪われ、己の内に確かな落ち着きを見いだせなかった。この世で敗北し、来世に対して大いなる恐怖を得たため、二つの世界のいずれからも断たれ、内なる勇気を保てなかったのである。」
