चरन्तं रथमार्गेषु सात्यकिं सत्यविक्रमम् । द्रोणकर्णान्तरगतं कृपस्थापि च भारत
carantaṃ rathamārgeṣu sātyakiṃ satyavikramam | droṇakarṇāntaragataṃ kṛpasthāpi ca bhārata
サञ्जयは言った。おおバーラタよ、サーティヤキ——その武勇は決して偽らぬ者——は戦車の轍に沿って駆け、ドローナとカルナの間隙へと踏み込み、さらにはクリパの陣所にまで入り込んだ。この光景は、敵陣の最も危険な裂け目を突き進む武人の断乎たる前進を示し、義務と戦の苛烈な必然の前で勇気が試されるさまを描く。
