Droṇa’s Suparṇa Formation and Yudhiṣṭhira’s Counter-array

The verse highlights how anger amplifies destructive intent in war: martial skill and weapon-power, when driven by wrath, is likened to Rudra’s indiscriminate ferocity. Ethically, it warns that prowess without restraint can turn combat into slaughter.
In the Drona Parva’s battle setting, Sañjaya reports a warrior’s boastful, threatening declaration: he calls attention to his fearsome weaponry and strength and vows to bring down the opposing fighters that very day, comparing his rage to Rudra striking down beasts.
