संछिन्दन्तौ च गात्राणि संदधानौ च सायकान्‌

Transliteration

saṃchindantau ca gātrāṇi saṃdadhānau ca sāyakān

Translation

サンジャヤは言った。「彼らは互いの肢体を断ち、またたちまち矢を弓に番えた。」この一句は戦の陰惨な律動を捉える——傷を与えては休む間もなく、即座に次の一撃へ備える。戦においては、技と不屈の意志さえも、止むことなき暴力の器となり得ることを示し、かかる絶え間ない攻勢の倫理的代償を聴く者に省みさせるのである。
