तत: समभवद् युद्ध घोररूपं भयानकम् | विस्मापनं महाराज नरराक्षसयोर्मुधे,महाराज! तदनन्तर रणभूमिमें सबको विस्मयमें डालनेवाला मनुष्य और राक्षसका वह घोर एवं भयानक युद्ध आरम्भ हो गया
tataḥ samabhavad yuddhaṃ ghorarūpaṃ bhayānakam | vismāpanaṃ mahārāja nara-rākṣasayor mṛdhe ||
サンジャヤは言った。「そのとき、王よ、見るも恐ろしい凄惨な戦いが起こった。激戦のただ中で、人と羅刹(ラークシャサ)が相まみえ、戦場一帯を驚愕に沈めたのである。その瞬間、戦の残虐な本性が露わとなり、比類なき武勇と人ならぬ凶暴さとが衆目の前で激突した。」
संजय उवाच
