पुनर्द्रष्टासि कर्णस्य निष्ठामेतां तथा55त्मन: । स्वधर्ममर्थ काम॑ च त्रितयं योडभिवाउछति
punar draṣṭāsi karṇasya niṣṭhām etāṁ tathātmanaḥ | svadharmam artha-kāmaṁ ca tritayaṁ yo ’bhyavāñchati ||
サञ्जयは語った。汝は再び、カルナの揺るがぬ決意——そして彼自身の内なる決意をも——目にするであろう。すなわち、ダルマ（義務）、アルタ（利得・繁栄）、カーマ（欲望）という三つの目的を求める者の、あの確乎たる志である。
