स सम्प्रहारस्तुमुलो निशि प्रत्यभवन्महान् । यथा सागरयो राजंश्नन्द्रोदयविवृद्धयो:,राजन! उस रात्रिमें चन्द्रोदयकालमें उमड़े हुए दो महासागरोंके सदृश उन दोनों दलोंका वह महान् संग्राम अत्यन्त भयंकर प्रतीत होता था
sa samprahāras tumulo niśi pratyabhavan mahān | yathā sāgarayor rājan candrodayavivṛddhayoḥ ||
サンジャヤは言った。「王よ、その夜の激突は巨大にして騒然となった。月の出に二つの大海が膨れ上がるがごとく、両軍の戦いはうねり、轟き、恐るべきさまを呈した。」
संजय उवाच

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that during the night the fighting intensified into a massive, terrifying melee; he conveys its scale through a vivid comparison to two oceans surging at moonrise.
