चित्रसेनो महाराज शतानीकं पुनर्युधि । नवभिर्निशितैर्बाणैराजघान स्तनान्तरे,महाराज! चित्रसेनने युद्धस्थलमें पुनः नौ तीखे बाणोंद्वारा शतानीककी छातीमें गहरी चोट पहुँचायी
citrāseno mahārāja śatānīkaṃ punar yudhi | navabhir niśitair bāṇair ājaghāna stanāntare, mahārāja ||
サンジャヤは言った。大王よ、戦のただ中でチトラーセーナは再びシャターニーカを撃ち、鋭い矢九本をもってその胸のあたりを貫いた。この出来事は、戦が容赦なく加速してゆくさまを示す。勇と技は重ねての攻撃によって示されるが、暴力の道義的な重みはなお戦場に影を落としていた。
