Droṇa’s Withdrawal, Death, and the Kaurava Rout (द्रोणनिधन-प्रसङ्गः)

Even amid warfare, the epic frames events through moral perception: the spreading radiance highlights how extraordinary signs and heightened intensity accompany moments of great dharmic consequence, reminding the listener that war is not merely physical conflict but a crisis of righteousness.
Sañjaya reports that a powerful light appeared, and by that radiance both the Kaurava and Pāṇḍava armies became brilliantly visible; the glow seemed to spread beyond earth and sky into all directions, intensifying the battlefield scene.
