दुःशासन-सहदेव-संक्षोभः; भीम-राधेय-गदायुद्धम्; द्रोण-पार्थ-अस्त्रसंग्रामः

घोररूपं महाराज भीरूणां भयवर्धनम्‌ | यह देख द्रोणाचार्यकी सेनासे घिरे हुए राजा दुर्योधनने भी रणभूमिमें पाण्डवोंपर आक्रमण किया। महाराज! भी कायरोंका भय बढ़ानेवाला घोर युद्ध होने लगा

ghorarūpaṃ mahārāja bhīrūṇāṃ bhayavardhanam |

大王よ、臆する者の恐れをいよいよ増し立てる、凄惨なる戦が起こった。ドローナ阿闍梨の軍に囲まれ、追い詰められたドゥルヨーダナ王を見て、パーンダヴァらは戦場において彼へ猛攻を加えた。かくして戦いは恐るべき相を帯び、クシャトリヤの法(kṣatriya-dharma)の要請のもと、勇気と決意が試された。
