Arjuna-vīrya-prasaṃśā and renewed battle formation
ete sthāsyanti saṅgrāme pāṇḍavānāṃ vadhārthinaḥ | jayam ākāṅkṣamāṇā hi kauraveyasya daṃśitāḥ ||
The verse highlights how desire for victory and factional loyalty can harden into a deliberate will to kill. Ethically, it frames war not as a neutral event but as driven by intention (ākāṅkṣā) and resolve (sthāsyanti), reminding the reader that moral weight lies in motives as much as in actions.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that certain Kaurava-aligned warriors will take their positions in the battlefield, fully prepared and armoured, with the explicit aim of killing the Pāṇḍavas and securing victory for Duryodhana.
