पंरतु द्रोणपुत्र अश्वत्थामा अपने पास आनेसे पहले ही उस बाण-वर्षाको बाणोंद्वारा नष्ट कर देता था। इससे आकाशकमें बाणोंका दूसरा संग्राम-सा मच गया था ।। अथास्त्रसम्मर्दकृतैर्विस्फुलिज्जैस्तदा बभौ | विभावरीमुखे व्योम खद्योतैरिव चित्रितम्,अस्त्रोंके परस्पर टकरानेसे जो आगकी चिनगारियाँ छूटती थीं, उससे रात्रिके प्रथम प्रहरमें आकाश जुगनुओंसे चित्रित-सा प्रतीत होता था

サンジャヤは語った。ドローナの子アシュヴァッターマは、近づく前にその矢の雨を自らの矢で滅ぼしていた。ゆえに天空には、矢の第二の合戦が起こったかのようであった。さらに武器が互いにぶつかり擦り砕けると火花が散り、夜の初更には、空が蛍で彩られたかのように見えた。
